Question:

Why do the numbers on the weighing scale differ if u put them in different places?

like when i put the scale downstairs it says a different weight than when i weigh my self in my room..

if ya know what i mean

  1. Any number of reasons. The flooring may be different.  Your position on the scale may be different.  The act of picking up the scale and moving it may change the calibration.  You may have eaten a giant burrito while you were carrying the scale downstairs.  You may be dressed differently.


  2. Probably what happened was that upstairs some of your weight was transferred to the floor and made it sink, while in the basement the floor is solid so all of your weight is focused on the scale. Also, the difference may also be because gravity gets stronger as you get closer to the core of the earth (my first explanation would probably make more of a difference, though).
