it is a male instinct to fight in all animal life forms and we are only animals at the end of the day so those who wont fight are gutless we fight for what we believe in or for male dominance we all fight for different reasons whether the fight is physical mental or emotional and should keep on doing so fighting in terms of sport or competition is to see who as mastered the art of hitting with out getting hit if you have not tried it  then do so you'll be hooked its a sweet science as they say in the game and its true iv been in the fight game for 22 years and its my life

It's just simply one of several methods to solve conflicts. Some people solve conflicts through talking, some simply ignore it and then you have some who feel that fighting will end conflicts. Each method has its up and down sides to it. Though each has its ups and downs, some methods have much bigger upsides than others. Some have much bigger downsides. In many of cases that involve fighting, the reasoning is not well thought out. Many times the consequences don't come to mind.

As mentioned, fighting is simply a method of solving conflict, though it may not be the right method in most cases.
