Most Argentinians and and Uruguayans are white because they were colonized by the europeans, the indians were almost all killed and there are very few black people.

Also,during the 19 century both Uruguay and Argentina received massive immigration from Europe that reinforced even more the presence of white population in both countries.

Both countries have the same percentage of white people (around 80%) but in Argentina the non-whites are indians (that live in the north provinces) while in Uruguay non-whites are mostly black who were orignally Brazilians who escaped to Uruguay from slavery.
