Why do the population of Brazil, Colombia, Venezuela, Chile and Paraguay is "Mixed"?

  1. Paraguay is not mixed! More than 90% of the population is White/Caucasian.

    Spain & Portugal did allow intermarriages in their colonies so that's why most of those countries have a majority mixed population.

  3. Well, what type of mixture are you talking about? Mixed with Black I would say Brazil has this hands down, in fact they have one of the highest African populations outside of Africa. Chile is infact mostly European descent, and has not much of a signifant Mestizo, Amerindian, Black, or Mulatto population. Colombia and Venezuela are mostly Mestizo, but still have significant White/Spanish, Black, Mulatto populations. Paraguay is mostly European descended also, but has some Mestizo and Amerindian influence.
