when the democratic congress has only been in office for 2 years and Bush veto's all the good they have tried to do? Are they in such denial that Obama is winning that they will believe anything?

What about what is best for America? I have a nephew who has been on several tours in Iraq and is getting ready to go again. He said him and his buddies want to come home. They are voting Democrat!!

I keep saying it, but it is getting more obvious.....denial is sad!

  1. Congress is the part of government with the real power. They authorized the war and they fund it every year.

Congress has been s******g up America for 50 years now. Democrats and Republicans. They have made themselves immune to elections so they can be as corrupt as they want, for as long as they want.

The President is the scapegoat we the people focus on while the congress screws us over and over.

  2. Because they are finally taking personal responsibility, despite President Bush's cavalier attitude.

Or maybe trying to shift blame again.

    Probably the second.

  3. Bill Clinton vetoed a total of 36 bills.  GW Bush's total:  11.  Of those, Congress over-rode 4 of them and left only SEVEN of Bush's vetoes intact.  Truly, if anyone gets blame for the economic mess, it's Congress.

  4. i'm not a republican, but i will say that this congress has done nothing of merit.  you say someone has blocked "all the good they have tried to do."  i haven't seen congressmen or women from either side try to do any good.  it's all partisan b.s. like always.  obama is winning right now, and there is no denying it.  every poll and every measure says so, not one opposes that conclusion.  it has nothing to do with the fact that our congress is a sorry bunch of shortsighted partisan wimps.

  5. I would imagine it is because things got really bad since the dems took control of congress. Look.. Bush was re elected on 04 so you cant say that his first 4 years were sooooo bad or else Kerry would have run away with the election.. Things got bad after thy took control in 06....

  6. simple answer.

    BECAUSE THEY ARE REPUBLICANS

  7. Because smart guy, the economy was good until 06'. I'm not saying that Bush is a good president by any stretch. But, the Democrats have a way of not taking responsibility for anything. Who are they going to blame when Bush is out of office?

  8. Guilt...I think we need to shake out the rug on both sides of Washington and begin anew. Remember we are still as far as I know

WE THE PEOPLE, are we not?  Get rid of Red hats and Blue Hats and start wearing WE THE PEOPLE Hats.

  9. First off, President Bush has even said he ran plenty of great ideas by the congress, but they just shrug it off. The congress is democratic: democraptic. Obama may be winning now, due to inaccurate polls; but we'll see who really wins the whole hoopla in November. Until then, I would keep my mouth shut about inaccurate polls.

  10. Republicans just don't have the guts to take responsibility for their actions! It is really disapointing, but it doesn't surprise me! I trust the Democrats completely. It's just to hard for me to trust the Republicans after the past eight years. I respect John McCain but I don't think he has the right ideas and plans for the country!

  11. The economic problems we face can't be blamed on legislators or executives, and to do so is a serious oversimplification of serious problems. We are in this recession because of the circumstances we as a species have created, and Americans can't act as if our woes are solely ours. Anybody notice the grain famines in Egypt, the French demonstrations against crippling gas prices? The rest of the world is hurting, too.

  12. "my friend, lol (as McBush),

i accept that i have no way to run this country. Obama has the strongest message for the country change. i had experience, and now i understand that i must use "change" and reforming Washington in order to move forward, but it looks like i can. my friends, this is the moment, where you have to choose me to lead this country to peril or choosing my friend Obama to take you to a better America. thanks you, my friends, and God bless the U.S of A."

    Obama 08!!!

  13. No, we're saying the last 2 years have been bad because of congress.  If you recall, that's when everything started getting so bad.

  14. I think many of the Republicans here are voting just for the sake of their party, not for the sake of the country.  I think a lot of people are too proud to admit that their party screwed up.  Instead, they will stand there and plaster a smile on their faces and act like they are happy (like MCain did during Palin's speech), when they should humble themselves and vote for the better candidate.

  15. It truly is.

There use to be a time when I was in college that we could debate these issues in a civilized manner.  Now, liberals hate conservatives and vice versa.  How ignorant.  America wouldn't be America without both of these.

Just goes to show how much hurt we are in as a country these days.  People look for excuses and others to blame.

  16. They are in denial and fighting to hold on. They'll say anything.

  17. Well, Congress was the reason for the terrible last 8 years. The Congress was Republican for 6 of the 8 years and have only prevented the Democrats from getting anything done the last 2 years. Democrats may have a very slight majority lead right now, but the Republicans are still there in too large a number and continue to create chaos and havoc. So the truth be told. The Republican Congress has been the reason for the terrible last 8 years. You have to think like them to beat them.

  18. Obama/Biden 2008!!!!!

  19. Because they are ... and a LOT more !!!

Democrats are TRYING to BLAME Republicans for the FAILURES of the Socialist / Communist / Liberal / Marxist Democrats of the last 65+ YEARS !!!

Democrats have to recognize that since the 73rd Congress in 1933

... for a MAJORITY of THE LAST 65 YEARS

... Democratic Houses of Representatives and Democratic Senates have

... CONTROLLED the nation and the President.

    A TOTAL of 38 Sessions

... with Democrats in CONTROL for 28 of those!

WE need to inform/TELL our political representatives that WE NEED TO PASS a Constitutional Amendment for the LINE ITEM VETO.

This will keep the SPECIAL INTEREST GARBAGE from being attached to valuable legislation.

If Congress wants to give the president that power, they will have to pass a constitutional amendment, Supreme Justice John Paul Stevens said. "If there is to be a new procedure in which the president will

play a different role in determining the text of what may become a law, such change must come not by legislation but through the amendment procedures set forth in Article V of the Constitution," Stevens said,

    on June 25th, 1998.

IF your special interest is SO valuable, why do you have to HIDE it in valuable legislation?

So, with them REFUSING to PASS the Line Item Veto, in reality, the House and Senate have REALLY been controlling the country!!

AND, with the CURRENT Senate and Congress having the WORST approval rating in HISTORY, hopefully we will see a LOT of changes after the general elections.

A recent Reuters poll is out and Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid have pulled an upset: They have managed to make George Walker Bush twice as popular as CONGRESS.

RECENTLY - - JUST 8% of Likely Voters now say the DEMOCRATICALLY CONTROLLED Congress is doing a good or excellent job.

Democrats generally believe in heavy fines for honest work, while rewarding sloth and indulgence.

Do YOU think that people should be able to do absolutely nothing productive and get government hand-outs for sloth and indulgence - healthcare, tobacco, alcohol, drugs, STDs, etc. ??

Do YOU want to have YOUR MONEY TAKEN from YOU and YOUR FAMILY to FINANCE these people ???

    .

JUNIOR U. S. Senator Obama did NOT complete his FIRST term in office

... with just 143 days of ACTUAL experience

    ... HE decided

... that he DESERVED to be THE President of THE United States of America !!!

    .

TAXES ... TAXES ... AND ... MORE TAXES ... are what is driving American corporations to downsize in America and expand in "friendlier" countries !!!
