  1. No Royal holds a surname when one is used that is the name of the Royal House they belong to

  2. While they could use the name Windsor or Mountbatten-Windsor, their correct titles are HRH, Prince Harry/William of Wales.  As such, Wales is the proper "surname "for them, based on British royal tradition.

  3. To disguise their German origins. They have no connection with Wales

  4. It is not uncommon for the sons of titled nobility (such as, in this case, the Prince of Wales) to use the title as a last name rather than their proper last name.  Also, I suspect because "Lieutenant Wales" flows off the tongue better than "Lieutenant Mountbatten-Windsor."

  5. Because for 800 years the English royal family has foisted their useless sons on us - that's why.

They're not Welsh, don't speak Welsh, never come here, aren't welcome here and support England against Wales at just about any sport you like to mention.

Why don't they call themselves Prince of Birmingham?  It bet the loyal English subjects living in Birmingham would love that.  Then maybe they'd leave us alone.

  6. Royals typically use their Royal House names in lieu of surnames. William and Harry's Royal House is Wales,so they use Wales as their surname; They can also use Windsor and Mountbatten-Windsor,but their Royal House names distinguish them from the rest. Andrew's branch uses his Royal House title of York, and Edward's clan uses his Royal House designation of Wessex.

  7. Because they're a pair of jerks.

  8. As with Royal Family tradition, Prince William used "Wales" as a last name during his years of education, as has Prince Harry. William's York cousins in turn use "York" (other Royal Families also use their parents' title as their own working surname). Past precedent, however, is that such title-surnames are dropped from usage in adulthood, with either title alone or name and Mountbatten-Windsor being used on legal documents and banns of marriage.

  9. They use Wales.  Their official last name is Mountbatten-Windsor but they use Wales.

  10. it's their name. Their father is the Prince of Wales.
