Why do the trains still have heating on?

  1. it's all about, comfort, just like cars with individual climate control .your only 12in. apart , we still have a need to adjust our environment.


  2. Nowadays, heating control on modern trains and buses is controlled by the engineers at the depot or garage and NOT BY THE DRIVER, so until the word comes from "on high" that the heating period is over - it stays on !

  3. Most new rolling stock is self contained air conditioned, which will try and keep the temperature at a constant comfortable level, however sometimes the thermostat fails and the heating switches back on.  Older stock will have the heating turned on for most of the time, especially if when the stock goes in for maintenance someone checks the heating coils and forgets to turn them back off again, or the train is rushed back into service.

  4. Because some dumb @$$!! Doesn't know where the switch is, to turn on the A/|C unit.

  5. i know is it not crazy!!! even the buses! i think it is the drivers that are cold and they then just make EVERYONE suffer!
