It is a team tradition that the players look clean cut like they all did in the early days of baseball.

Yankee brass has always wanted their players to appear "clean cut", depsite their personalities. Part of agreeing to be part of the team, otherwise you are out the door. rememebr when damon was traded to yanks from Boston. he had to shave the very first day lol.

However their rituals they come up with when trying to snap a bad streak or keep a good streak going, such as wearing one thong and  sharing it, I just dont know about that one lmao.

When most people go to their jobs as lawyers and doctors, it is in the best interests of the workers to look and dress professionally.  Steinbrenner is using that ideology to his baseball team.

as a sign of professionalism. The rules are there, you know it before you become a yankee. If you dont like it dont sign the contract. But who wouldnt cut their hair or shave everyday when you are on a team that has a chance to win a world series every year. Baseball is a job now, they are getting paid millions. You dont see highly paid people in the work place with long shaggy hair.
