  1. Take a look at their remaining schedule and you'll see that only the most improbable of miracles will save the Yankees this year.    This upcoming roadtrip is a killer:  a makeup game in Detroit, then 3 in Tampa, and then a trip to the West Coast for 3 in both Seattle and Anaheim, all with no days off.  Then they come home to host the Rays, White Sox, and Orioles, then finish up with 3 in both Toronto and Boston.   Keep in mind that they have to go something like 23-5 the rest of the way to have a reasonable chance.

We're so screwed, but hey, it was a nice run for 13 years and it had to end some time.  Let's just hope they don't finish in fourth.

  2. cause they always suck

  3. A-rods not hitting in the clutch

  4. They have too many high priced, old players who get injured easily.

  5. cuz they just suk

  6. yankees suck, boston rocks, and the world goes round and round

  7. I think they need to try and fit more young players into there starting roster because they are all starting to age.

  8. Boston fan's don't get so cocky this is the yr the RAYS are gonna be your daddy!!!

  9. The Yankee season was over about a month ago. Girardi isn't thinking outside the box. Joba should have been groomed from spring training to start. One of the problems with the game right now is that whenever a person starts a style of managing(Tony LaRussa)everybody copies. Pitch counts, etc. I've lived through good(1977-1981)(1985-1989) Yankee teams and bad(1988-1991). Most fans after 1996 are spoiled. It's over.

  10. Because Boston is better.

  11. Way to be obvious man. If they dont start winning they wont make the playoffs? no sh*t sherlock. and yes, they are too far out with too few games left. Forget the division, theres no way they can catch the sox, twins, and white sox for the wild card...will not happen

  12. True, it would be a miraculous comeback for us. I want to make the comeback so bad for three reasons:

    1) I want to make the playoffs/win the WS in the last year of Yankee Stadium.

    2) So Girardi doesn't look like an even bigger fool than he already is.

    3) So we can have a comeback just as good (if not better) than the '04 Sox did.

Getting there is the problem, obviously. We have 3 reliable starters, and when Joba comes back, it'll be 4. Ponson has been pitching well, too, even though he's been shaky the last few outings. Damon, Nady, Abreu, and Jeter (lately) are the only hitters in our lineup that aren't underachieving.

Next year, I expect to pick up at least 2 quality pitchers and be one of the most feared teams in baseball, but I don't feel like waiting for next year.

  13. yankees have many players hurt. they have to get rid of some players for next year.. wait till next year.. hate the dirty stinky red soxes. go rays.. ...
