Why do these women do it?

Why is it that you see really s**y young women who start to become famous and rich get tacky tattoos and spoil their looks forever its such a waste?

What is amazing is that these young people think they are being individual. For years tatoos were seen in European countries as a rebellian, a way of standing out from the crowd as a non conformist. It made a statement.

Now the opposite is true. As tatoos are used by the vast majority ,they are simply proving they are trying to fit in. with the masses.

If they really wanted to stand out  they would keep tatoo free.

Virgin Skin should be the way of saying Im different.. I dont follow the crowd.

I dont have a problem with tattoos.

But i have a problem with poitless, tacky tattoos.

For example, butterflys. Yea they may symbolise life and whatnot, but when the entire population of girls get them, it becomes really old, really fast.

I really hate big coloured tattoos too.

I guess they do it because they want to. But they dont see from others point of view that it doesnt look...ladylike?

Lol.. it's not always the rich and famous, and not always women.  Lately a lot of my friends have been getting tattoos, and not little ones either.  I think my friend that has the most tattoos has a total of 15..

I think it's a trait of human nature.  Right now tattoos are popular, but also still seen as kind of rebelious.  The people that get tattoos are easily spotted as having something in common.. it's something to bond over.  It's human nature to try to fit in.  Humans aren't solitary creatures, they try to fit in with each other, try to be accepted.

I personally don't find big tats appealing especially if they are visible all the time.

It doesn't bother me if they are on a discreet part of the body or only visible in a bikini.

Because most of them are air heads. I have a tattoo but it is something that took me a long time to decide what to get and it is something that is very personal to me. It means something to me and is a place that is not in public view.

I agree and it's not just rich and famous people and it's not just girls.  I know someone who is a cat lover.  She got a tattoo of cat pawprints on her forearm.  She's only about 19, so I can see where she would think it looks really cute, but every time I see her, I picture how stupid those pawprints are going to look when she's 72.  They're going to look like bruises!  Actually, I just read in the newspaper that tattoo removal places are becoming hugely popular now.

i think they just thought it was a good idea at the time for a variety of possible reasons.

some tattoos look nice...some do not.  sometimes it depends on what the person is wearing whether it looks nice or not.

personally, for myself i have been tempted in the past but never decided to have a tattoo because i would probably change my mind about the design a year later!

Tattoo's have been in existence for thousands of years. Unfortunately in the last 20 they have became a thing of our younger generation to put all over their bodies. I share your opinion, but... It is their bodies, and they will be the ones trying to stretch out their wrinkles at 80 to see if it's a dragon on their neck or a drowning elephant.

1. they probably LIKE their tattoos and think they are cool. At least they will for a few years.

2. it is not just young rich famous women who get them. Ever been  in San Francisco on a hot day? looks like about 1/3 of the population, male and female, is tattooed.

3. you can get them removed with laser treatments, so it is not "forever" - expensive and painful to get rid of them, but it can be done, and frequently is.

4. not all guys hate tattoos. Also not all women hate tattoos on men, but a substantial portion share your opinion (that tattoos are ugly).  Tattooed people can date other tattooed people

5. I'm guessing these young s**y ladies' fame and wealth keep them out of your dating range anyways, so is it really a loss?
