Why do they always seize a failed bank on Friday nights?

  1. For the same reason they do whenever any company has been seized by warrant.  It gives them time to enter the property, seize all assets (furniture, etc) and to secure all files.

    Then they can secure the building to prevent entry by employees or officers.  They will usually allow employees to enter and retrieve personal property under the watchful eyes of federal agents.

    This also gives them time to sort out accounts to see who can retrieve their funds from the bank and seize the accounts they need to seize.

    Worked once for a private agency that was hired by the feds to seize and secure property.  Been there, done that.
