Why do they ask them to stop singing on Big Brother?

I have been watching about every season and I still don't know why they tell them to stop singing. Anyone know?

Legal clearance issues...Big Brother's producers don't want to pay royalties on any songs the housemates might (attempt) to sing.

Because it costs the show money every time they sing!

I have a friend who went on "Win Ben Stein's Money" and he was singing some answers. They found it amusing, but during the commercial break they asked him to stop because they had to pay for each song he was singing, even if it was only part of the song!

Yes, because if they sing, they're violating copyright laws.

If you mean BB10 US, Dan is usually the one 'caught' doing it. :)
