Why do they call Root Beer Root Beer Thanx????

my daughter ask me why root has beer at the end and i did not no what to say? so Im asking how did it get it names in the first place.

its brewed the same way beer is therfore making it a beer and it has many roots herbs and spices yhat r all brewed up creating root beer
