  1. It has a tail. The cable running to the USB port/mouse port.

    Well, you do have wireless mouse but the 1st to be invented was with cables.


  2. Because originally, the mouse's cable was on the other side of the device, looking like a tail coming out the back.  Since it was sloped toward the front, and rounded at the back (for the palm of the hand), it looked like a mouse.

  3. cause it looks like a mouse and the tail is at the front. But now they have wireless (or tailess) mice...
