  1. No one seems to agree on the history of Diane sauce. I had Steak Diane once at a fancy restaurant-it was prepared tableside on a type of rolling grill.


  2. Some say the sauce was created to honor Diane, the goddess of the hunt. However, the sauce is usually served over cuts of steak, not game. So, most think Diane was simply a customer that the chef created the dish Steak Diane for.
