  1. Because some morons think that France is un-patriotic now that they didn't help as much as Bush wanted in the Iraq war. I think it's absolutely ridiculous

  2. after the french refused to embark on a witch hunt in iraq, childish americans thought the french would be devastated if we no longer associated fries with the french name. idiots.

  3. Freedom Fries? never heard of them.

  4. I think that they were insulted that france and the other nato countries didn't act like slaves and say yes massa thank you massa as we pushed them into a war they didn't want that they saw was based upon a pack of lies. so they started calling french fries, freedom fries as a lame attempt to get their revenge on the french for not being a good toady.

  5. for a while america called them that because the french government would not help after 9/11

  6. It has something to do with the French not liking Americans or something like that.  Since french fries really aren't French they tried to change it to freedom fries.  I don't know who "they" is but it didn't work.  I haven't heard freedom fries in  awhile.

  7. It is just American patriotic sentiment that is at play.  They don't want to call them French Fries because it means supporting France by name.....

  8. It was silly american backlash at the french for refusing to support the United States starting the Iraq war.  We replaced everything french with the word freedom

  9. because a certain amount of USA doesnt like France, because they are a bunch of wine drinking female under parts
