Why do they call the snooker player Ding Junhui by his fist name? Why dont they call him Junhui? Its annoying?

As far as I know the chinese put their last name first so Ding is his last name

Ding is actually his surname, and Junhui is his given name. In China, the surname is put first and then the given name.

Also in some Asian countries the first name is the family name, like the Pakistani cricketers Shahid Afridi and Shoaib Akhtar, who always have "Shahid" and "Shoaib" on the back of their shirts instead of "Afridi" and "Akhtar".
