  1. It does the body good.

  2. It used to be champagne until a few years ago, then the far left liberal pansies complained that NASCAR promoted the use of Alcohol.  So as a tongue in cheek gesture, they went to milk!  Silly, non-beer drinking, self centered liberals is why we "Got Milk"!  Now you went and made me get ugly (LOL)!!

  3. It is a tradition, but the Indianapolis speed way gets lots of money from the Indiana milk producers.

  4. i dont know but i did it once..and yuk!

  5. That particular tradition is chiefly in the Indianapolis 500, where the winner of the race drinks from a bottle of milk, but it all started in 1936, when Louis Meyer won the race, and was caught on film, drinking Buttermilk.

  6. maybe a sponser

    or

    for the camera

  7. They used to drink Champagne, then they used to just squirt it all over everyone, and now that auto racing is touted as a family-friendly show, they switched to milk, that great non-alcoholic, family-friendly drink.

  8. because milk is a nutritious liquid

  9. Didn't know they did.

  10. Reason #1:

If you have just burned up calories, sweated, etc., you will absorb the nutrients in milk better.

    Reason #2:

    Eases the Stomach

  11. That is just the Indy 500......In Nascar they drink Beer sometimes!!! besides their sponers drinks like Amp, Vit water etc.

  12. it helps

  13. tradition,

    and its yummy :)

  14. why not?

  15. The only race where the winner drinks milk is the Indy 500. Have yet to see milk in any other victory lane anywhere.

  16. Milk became the drink of champions after Louis Meyer, the winner of the 1936 Indianapolis 500, was photographed gulping down a bottle of buttermilk, his favorite drink. Apparently, his mom had recommended the drink, claiming it would refresh him.

  17. because it gives you strong bones and teeth! :)

  18. It just a racing tradition...its one that has withstood the test of time, nothing wrong with its worked for how many years now??????? Its not broke and do not attempt to fix it. I even know a driver who is totally lactose intolerant that won and took a swige of it..yeah it outlasted my relationship with him. Its a Indy tradition...don't change it.

    Go Helio..

  19. Sorry but so far all wrong.

It goes back to a certain driver whos name i do not know.He won the race and did not drink alcohol. He asked for milk in its place and the tradition has carried on from there.Im sorry i do not know the driver by name but this is the reason.
