Why do they get the wives to speak at conventions?

god cindy mccains speech was so cringeworthy. i didnt see obamas wifes speech but im sure it would have been on par with cindys. seriously whats the point in them speaking?

The point is to show a more "human" side of the candidates and to get the wives to vouche for the character of their husbands.  they also typically spend time campaigning for their husbands so it makes sense that they'd speak at the conventions as well.

Because they don't have any legitimate female politicians in their party, so they have to turn to the happy housewife who inspires women everyone with their submissive, gold digging behavior.

  I didn't hear her either, but other than that she sure is hot !   Do you think that might have something to do with it?  I didn't hear Todd Palin speak, I guess stud muffins don't count !
