Why do they have parking lots in bars when drinking and driving is not allowed?

If you have one or two drinks over the course of an hour with food, its not illegal to drive.  Its illegal to drive if your BAC is over .08.

Not everybody goes to a bar to get toasted, some people go to meet others and have a good time.

um for the designated driver.. its not often but it does happen. or maybe for the employees

People have to drive there, so need some place to park. Not all people who go to bars drink, some are the designated drivers.
