Just like alot of people, my heart dropped and I was saddened by the loss of EIGHT BELLES. As much as I want to see the horses be involved in a safer enviroment,I dont want to see pictures of Eight Belles or any other animal in pain. Yet today as I was reading this article http://sports.yahoo.com/rah/news;_ylt=AkWY.z7tYsNWKWWF9HJXxokX47kF?slug=jo-horses051508&prov=yhoo&type=lgns

They had atleast 2 pictures of EIGHT BELLES on the ground and last week while chanel surfing I saw a picture of EIGHT BELLES on the ground with her head up staring at the vet like she wanted to go home. I understand the pictures are used to get their point across, but can't they do that with out pictures?

  1. they dont really care about the horse. all the media cares about is money and all the race fans care about is their winning ticket

  2. Sorry, but I can't click the link. I can't watch it again. I know, on the Preakness, they actually showed Eight Belles collapse. I can't imagine WHY they would put that, plus I can't imagine how they figured people actually wanted to see it.

EDIT: Thanks for agreeing with me. I was afraid I was going to get a million thumbs down for not being able to see it, but I wanted to express my opinion

  3. because tragic events sell the news.

  4. If they walked over her at the track killed her right as he/ Brown collected his oats with no remorse; what did you expect, more dead then alive right?/Not my horse but I still think they knew/pushed her or Brown accidentally kicked her when crossing in front............Poor Horse...........Blessings Yahoo

  5. It's the whole rubberneck theory. The same reason why people always crane their heads to look at accident victims in a car wreck.

I agree though, I don't think it's at all appropriate to show that today. We already know what happened and are saddened by it. If they want to honor her memory, just show a regular picture of her when she was alive, not the ones of her untimely demise.
