Question:

Why do they keep pressuring me for my ambulance bill?

So these people call my number every time threatening me, telling me how my ambulance bill is growing exponentially. I was advised to let them know that I have medical insurance, and give them their phone number.

They can't stop calling even if I tell them that, Reason? They say that I have to pay immediately OR I'm going to owe them even more.

Do they have the right to do this even when they have my insurance company to pay them?

  1. contact your insurance company, make sure they're handling it and if not make sure it is taken care of

  2. Oh, there is so much you haven't told us!  For instance, how long has the bill gone unpaid?  Have you contacted your insurance company to see if the ambulance service has submitted a claim and, if so, why they haven't paid?

And, yes, they can do this.  You have recourse, you can pay the bill and deal with the insurance company yourself.

  3. Next time they call ask them if they have filled out the paperwork to get paid by your insurance company?  If they don't then give them your insurance information.

I think this is the reason for the continued calls.

  4. Call your insurance company see if it does pay for and ambulance. If they do then tell them what is going on. When they call again tell them you have insurance and tell them to take it up with them.

  5. Tell them your a illegal alien and Poof its gone. really, ask that they send you ( by certified letter) a Validation Letter. That will make them explain who what were of the whole thing as well as make them stop calling. If there a third party collector , chances are they will give up.

  6. Sounds like an issue between you and your insurance company. You should get this straightened out so they can get the money they are owed.

  7. You need to contact your insurance company and see what they have or haven't paid, get proof from them and also a copy of the bill from the ambulance ride..

get caller ID and if you don't know who's the number calling just don't answer it and if you don't have caller id you still don't have to answer it if its important enuff say like friends or family they will leave a message..

  8. contact your insuarance company, because obviously they didnt cover the medical fee

  9. insurance most likely is not going to cover the entire cost, you need to contact your insuracne and find out the procedure for payment.

  10. u need to handle it with ur insurance company....they dont have time to take care of your bills...if you want them to stop calling, pick up the phone, call ur insurance company and have them pay the bill

  11. I agree with the above answer that says the insurance company isn't going to pay in full.  You need to find out what they will pay and pay the balance.

Of course they keep wanting you to pay the bill.  They provide a service and would like to get paid for it.

btw, if they are going to add late charges or interest, it needs to be reasonable.  After thirty days, some type of late fee is reasonable.
