Why do they let some professional athletes play in the olympics?

Professional hockey and basketball players can play. Why not baseball and boxing?

well if you look at tennis i know you didn't mention it but um Roger Federer he's pro and he lost his 2nd or 3rd match same with Nadal but i think he's still in but regardless you can find people who aren't pro that are better than the pros so I think with baseball U.S. would rule because its really our sport but i think that its good to have pros because it can show that you don't have to go pro even if your awesome at your sport.

Pro Basketball players have only competed in the Olympics since 1992.  I think the Olympics are supposed to be your best.

i wish that they would not let any professional athletes play.

it should be all amateur.

2.baseball-imagine the mlb without all of the good stuff!and its close to the pennant race

3.hockey-it is in february,which is usually 3 months before playoffs,and its a huge passion(baseball you have minor leagues, in hockey they only have like 1 minor league team for all of the nhl)
