I dont understand. It may make perfect sense to teach about conditions on an early earth just after it was formed, the beginnings of live and the balance of the atmosphere, the gradual evolution up to complex live like amphibions and onto things like the dinosaurs, the triassic, jurassic and cretaceous periods and then onto things like the ice-age and the first signs of man.
All this is blanked out from the curriculum and in my opinion is probably the most interesting academic subject that schools could teach. the earliest that we are probably tought is jesus, and the earliest historical events (as jesus is tought during RE at schools) is the romans.
I think the're missing out on alot of possible paleontologists due to the lack of natural history teachings in brittish schools.
