  1. Because they're environmental nuts and they don't trust their citizens to spill it everywhere.

  2. Because they don't trust the average motorist is intelligent enough to fill their own tanks. Same thing in NJ.

  3. I know it's the law (Same as jersey) but I think it had something to do with gas station fires. Something about static electricity zapping the gas handle igniting the fuel. Thats why they want people on the outside because there on their feet expelling their charge through the ground. When we sit on the seats we build up a charge. Either that or I fell asleep watching Mythbusters again.

  4. Because its the law in Oregon

  5. "Employment, for the youth of America!"  - John Waters

  6. probably the same reason it is done in New Jersey-it's the law- kinda nice when the weather is bad- the prices at most NJ gas stations is alot less than other states.

  7. because here in oregon, the men like sticking things into holes for their own personal pleasure..

  8. EPA regulations require it. from what I understand they are the only state the does this. they also have an attendant pump your gas to reduce the possibility of fire. Check out this web site for the laws and regulations on this policy for more information. It should answer a lot of your questions.
