Why do they say not to water your vegetables with reclaimed water?

  1. Who is saying that? current recommendations are to use "gray" (kitchen and bath, but not toilet) water for lawns and gardens.


  2. If by "reclaimed" water, you mean processed/treated water from septic tanks, then it's perfectly fine.  In fact, everyone here has sprinklers which automatically go on once or twice a day, to use the processed water from the septic tanks.  I was told it's even safe to drink, but I'm sticking to my Brita water pitcher:)
