  1. typical blonde?

  2. Thanks for the laugh! What I want to know is where they turn the trains around so that they can come back the other way. ?

  3. By all available doors they mean don't crowd round one door when getting on the train, instead if you see a door that doesn't have a big crowd round it then you should use that door.

  4. it means not loads of people try and use the one door when there is differant ones.

  5. It comes under the same heading as the instruction that dogs must be carried on escalators, we don't always have a dog with us to do this, so presumably on those occasions we will be unable to use the escalators.

  6. They ask you to use all available doors rather than all crowd around the same one.  This helps people get off quicker, then people can get on quicker and the train can be prepared for dispatch quicker.

  7. Part of my job as a train manager is to ensure a timely departure

from stations. Nothing annoys me more than the "sheep" factor whereby everyone is totally oblivious to the fact that there is more than one door on a train. I find a good blast on my whistle

wakes intending passengers up to this fact and motivates them to change from "sheep" mode to "headless chicken" mode.

  8. Thats really made me laugh!! Have a great weekend x

PS to anyone who tries to get onto the train as people are getting off.....dont be a kn0b! You know who you are!

  9. well lol

its becouse quantumly the chance you borded goes up if all the paths you could take where open ...

    you when through all doors

  10. Trains are forever late. The queues waiting to board are furiously impatient.  Someone placed a stop sign in front of their game of hurrying.

The annoucement comes. One step forward.  You can feel people raring to sprint. There is an eagle glint to their eye.

The doors open. Crowd rush to train.  Some look bewildered, follow the first person . All charge fast to the near door.  Try to ram though. A tin of sardines.

But on down the platform is a sense of space and sensibility. Only a few wisemen are boarding the vacent lower carriages...

  11. It's because they are not allowed by law to charge you extra for using more than 1 door.  It's a frequent travellers perk to get extra free unlimited door usage, that hasn't been stopped with privatisation.  Neither governement nor rail co's will pay for the announcement to be re-recorded.

  12. hee, hee, hee...To let everyone know there is more than one.

  13. That's for peeps with split personalities.....

  14. It's just something for a bored train information personnel to do....Otherwise they would fall asleep.

  15. Are you referring to london's tube trains. If you're the only person to board a train,it might sound ironic.  It is a recorded message for when there's about a hundred or more passengers on busy hours.  It would be unwise for a hundred passengers to get in the same door as yourself because there could be a nasty accident...and so they have to spread out and use different doors.

  16. Good point! And they always make it extra difficult by announcing this game when the platform is really busy. Good think I'm tall, so I can push people out of the way easier. I usually manage to get on board a train seven times, what is your score?

  17. I agree that the announcement doesn't make much sense. My theory is that someone started to confuse "Use all available space" [inside the train] with "Stand clear of the doors" so they said "Use all available doors" instead, and the mixed-up message somehow spread.

  18. he he he.... silly you. You have to use other doors and not crowd onto one door. He he he. you are funny

  19. Good question. Don't know the answer, though. Why do they say "stand clear of the doors", when nobody's really gonna stand in the doorway in an attempt to get crushed, are they? The only time that would happen is if the train was packed, but then you wouldn't have much chance to stand clear.

Incey-wincey spider climbed up the water spout

Down came the rain and washed the spider out

Incey went to the lawyers and filed a spider-claim

Cos the bloke at health and safety didn't mark the drain.

NOTICE: Surfaces in this drainpipe may become

    slippery during wet weather.

  20. Lol.  Good one!

  21. because you may need to use all the doors?

  22. cos they eeeeeeare thick.

  23. It cuts down on station "dwell" (standing) time if passengers are distributed fairly evenly along the length of the train rather than all in one place.

  24. people are like blondies, they see only first one,

    Blondy

  25. What a choice! I would use a different one each time you travel .

  26. THERE IS LOT OF DOORS BUT THEY DO NOT WHICH ONE U R GOING 2 USE . NEXT TIME WHEN U TRAVEL JUST INFORM THEM AND THEY WILL HELP U WITH ONE DOOR

  27. Why do they say "Please insure you take all your luggage with you when leaving the train" when they mean "Please ensure....."?

Are the being sponsored by Norwich Union?

  28. Trains are training your brain.

As a part of a transporting system they try to make you step over your borders.

Free your mind, but try to keep your body in one piece. ;)

  29. Why do they keep telling me to make sure I have all my belongings with me when I exit the train? Generally speaking I leave almost all my belongings at home when I leave in the morning.

  30. It's  announcements made to try and prevent the "sheep" element all trying to use the same door/pair of doors on a train when there are doors all the way along the train. It might seem very clever or funny to have to ask such a question but the reason for such a request is to spread the load along the length of the train, thus avoiding delays in passengers unloading and loading which then would make the train even later thus giving rise to even more complaints about late trains, when THAT part of the delay is down entirely to the thoughtlessness of passengers.

  31. I never use the most likely door in entering or exiting..then after that i use a different door.  This has the same effect of when I am driving to a destination I try not to come back the same route I used going to my destination.

This stimulates thought and it does confuse those who may be following us..LOL..but if you get in a rut in life going and doing the same thing you can become a compulsive obsessive..Like MONK...take the road less traveled by..listen to the beat of a different drummer...etc etc
