  1. They want to kill him with an injection not an infection.

  2. I don't know. Maybe because if the person being lethally injected won't have caught anything if the punishment is canceled at the last second.

  3. LOL.....idk just one of those ironic things in our world i guess

  4. hahahha good question

i don't know anything about lethal injection really

    but that's funny

that never would've even crossed my mind

  5. if they survive for any  reason they can sue the country and it's cruel unusual punishment in the usa they have the right to safe health care. no matter if they are doomed to death or not

  6. to give respect to the dying...

though they're dying, it doesn't mean

they don't have the right to acquire appropriate medical procedures...

  7. Because that is how the needles COME OUT OF THE PACKAGE.

  8. Several reasons. The needles come sterilized from the factories. The arm is swabbed with alcohol to get veins to dilate, making it easier to insert the IV line. Also, there is a very slight possibility for all lethal injectees that they may receive a stay of execution. I believe this HAS happened before, when someone was lying on the table all hooked up and they were saved by a last minute stay of execution. In this case you don't want the person to later die of an infection and have their family sue you! Also, the needle must be sterilized to protect the person inserting it- if they slip and stick themselves then they're the ones with the infection. And finally, it would not be economically smart for any company to make unsterilized needles, since lethal injection needles make up probably 0.000000000001% of all needles used yearly and nobody would buy dirty needles.

  9. because health care workers are trained to used aceptic technique.

  10. Huh!  Good question...I guess it's more from habit than anything else.  Perhaps whoever is doing the injections worked at a hospital or other medical facility and since it's obviously required there, it just became an ingrained habit.

I guess if you think about it though, why bother sterilizing it, in the end, it doesn't really matter, does it?
