Why do they still hate rugby league nowadays?

In France, almost everyone is now a rugby union fanatic, but nobody knows the rules...People watch a dubious battle between bears like Chabal (our next President?), but actually do not understand what is happening....And if you say that fifty years ago, rugby league was more popular and that the greatest team we ever had was a rugby league one, they look at you as if you were an alien...What's the origin of the plot against rugby league, in France and everywhere except Australia and northern England?

French and rugby union fans are snobs,they think they are better than others and the game is better than league, but in fact neither is correct, when these fans go to the toilet there s**t still stinks just like the game they follow

I don't have a clue why rugby union is more popular because it is a terribly booring game to watch whereas league is one the most enjoyable sports in the world to watch

When people follow a sport because its winning, they will leave it when another one is winning more.

Good for you that you follow a sport because you like it. I do the same with Rugby Union in Argentina (although its becoming more popular).

Rugby League was officially banned in France during a certain period of time after/during its rise of popularity. It went downhill from there.

The world has gone soft playing c**p like rugby. My guess is that league was 2 tough 4 france,SF and England. Its a disgrace that they play that other s**+ t instead

personally I don't care if the french like our game or not, I don't watch any french sports. they can go to h**l.

as long as rugby league stays strong here in Australia that's all that matters,

state of origin is way better than any test match I've ever seen.

trying to go global is all about money. they'd do better promoting the game here, we still are a distant second to AFL, (it hurts to admit but that's the facts)

why they try to copy union with the world cup etc I don't understand, its a bit of a farce considering the only decent teams are England and Australia and on rare occasion the kiwis, you don't see Afl trying to have world cup yet they get larger crowds  than league..
