Why do they still put Cola / Rootbeer / Diet / Other on cup lids?

if you order cola  and you dont like root beer you want drink it if it is marked

bc they are all brown drinks..  this way if you are getting several drinks on one tray you know which is which..

Well if you have a party of three or more and one orders a coke, one orders a root beer and the other orders a diet, you should be able to tell which one is yours before having to take a sip from each one to see what it is, they are all brown coloured drinks so it's easy to confuse them, unlike the difference between seven-up and coke which is obvious.

Fast food restraunts put cola, rootbeer, diet, and other, on cup lids because it is like the olden days and looks more traditional. Probably gets more buisness for the company.    :)  good luck on answers!!!
