Question:

Why do they think that the LGBT lifestyle is bad?

You know, I started wondering why people usually make an assumptions that LGBT people's lifestyle is all about s*x, one night stand, p**n, and adultery.

If only, we never had that label, then maybe people will be more accepting. But seriously, what did the LGBT people do to earn such labels?

I thought something from the 70s era. They are too wild and they did things that put an understanding of LGBT lifestyle in the minds of the non-LGBT. Like I inherit all these discrimination because of what they did in the past?

But then again? Perhaps we never did anything? But then, why are we getting such labels?

Sorry if I ask too much. I am really wondering about it.

  1. Some people think that we are exempt from housework.

  2. Honestly speaking, part of what the media (QAF, etc.) has been exposing is quite true, in terms of the s*x part, albeit, to certain extent and to some people. But, i personally think that things have started to change lately. You can search "g*y marketing" on youtube. The BBC news recently just reported that according to the survey carried out, the average expense for g*y guys in UK is 15,000 pounds (per annum) more than straight guys. And, the g*y guys asked mostly had their tertiary degree.

So, as long as all of us work to "surpass" the mainstream society, we'll eventually earn their respect. And, things have been going on pretty good. It's certainly something that's worthwhile to look forward to.

  3. I hate to go against the vibe of the responses but in my world it IS that way. I live in q***r as Folk, I'm Justin, underage clubbing, dating a much older man whilst still having casual s*x with just about anyone I please. Drinking too excess and just having a good time. Through in the usual drama of friends breaking down over someone sleeping with someones partner or taking too many drugs, the rushes to the hospital after someone O.D's. In my world, that is how it is. In the world of the Sydney g*y scene that's how it is. People on the scene are the ones the media talks about, because we are the ones who destroyed the normal LGBT peoples reps. I know I am sorry and am trying to get out, but when it's all around you, it's easier said then done.

  4. Thanks to crappy soap tv like "q***r as folks"

Even an elementary school kid could come up with something with more substance.

That show DOES NOT depict my lifestyle... I don't go around sleeping with every single man I know.

  5. Blame the media

I wish my life was as exciting as that which you read of or see on the TV.

I dont live in a loft apartment, I dont drive a jeep, I dont go to club every night, I dont do drugs, I'm in a committed relationship etc

    After the media's portrayal, I sometimes question whether I am g*y!! :-)
