Why do things like mental blanks and 'tip of your tounge' happen?

does it have to do with having other things on your mind?

  1. In my case they aren't the same thing. tip of my tongue feels like it is right there I just have to get it to surface. mental blank is more what I would call a brain fog where I know I was thinking of something but it just vanished and I'm not gonna get it back. It's like thinking about something that you know you have learned versus being in the middle of a sentence and your whole thought pattern just disappears. Sometimes I think the fog is caused by stress. trying to deal with too much at one time. and the tip of the tongue you know it's bouncing around in there you just have to get it to the right part of your Brain to dig it out.


  2. Sometimes your neurons just do not want to fire!

  3. funny things happen..  It's like a car backfireing.  Brainfarts.  People who have done drugs and have some neurological damage as a result are REALLY bad trying to get their thoughts out.
