Question:

Why do those who claim that global warming is being pushed by politician not scientists never cite scientists?

Its a pretty common thing I see on here for deniers of AGW to claim that the idea global warming caused by humans is pushed is because it suits the agenda of politicians and the those in the 'environmentalist religion', as opposed to scientists. Yet whenever they have sources for their arguments that AGW is not occurring they are never backed up by scientists, only blogs. Whereas the other side of the argument often have scientists in their sources. Doesn't this really point quite strongly as to which side is correct?

  1. here you go:

  2. because they have no hard proof. no evidence. they have no respect for people with convictions and with scientific authority. because they think they look really cool being stubborn and "not believing" and because they think it's a cult or something. mostly because they have no evidence to counter our arguments and they are annoying.

I don't see the point in them. seriously. even if they don't believe in it...why can't they at least have respect for those who are trying to preserve their environ, ment.

If a bunch of crazy people came and told me that aliens would land on my lawn if they didn't tidy it up, clean it, help the ecosystem of the little lawn and plant flowers on it..I wouldn't necessarily be convinced about the aliens...but I'd still let them do it and be happy to see people who believe in a change for the better.

why do they always claim that we're like a religious cult? when theyre often the ones who follow a strict religion? and why oh WHY do they always point to blogs and opinions? when others have graphs and numbers and shiny glossy photos of evidence?

why? because they have NO proof. and theyre annoying.

  3. I think you missed the point. Most of the blogs sited have links to the actual research. Just follow the links.

  4. Let me start of by giving you the scientific proof.

So the first part of your question is false.  If a blog makes its case and backs it up with references to scientific literature (like many do), what is wrong with that?

Here is a list of 400 highly intelligent people that appose the AGW theory.  Do you think they arrived at their conclusions by reading some blog?

Many people here site realclimate.org.  I have news for you.  Realclimate is a blog.

If global warming is based on science and not politics, then why have environmental groups always been in favour of the theory, right from the start?  They have never been apposed to it or have taken a neutral stand.  You would think in a subject as complex as the earth's climate, they would take a wait and see approach and let the scientists study the issue without any pressures to conform to one side or the other.

But that never happens with AGW.  As soon as the theory came out, the environmentalists jumped on board, and anybody who opposed the theory was attacked and had his motives were questioned.  That is not the why science behaves.

  5. I am a skeptic of AGW, and must confess some of my opinion has been formed by the politics involved. I find it odd how well a scientific theory can appeal to certain groups, usually of the environmental sort. I think a lot of these types of people promote AGW, not because it's good science, but if accepted will accomplish much of the agendas being pushed before. I love nature, and I sincerely want to see mankind as wise stewards of this world. I love the truth more, though and without it, this environment in any form, is not worth much. For a good skeptical article, search Middlebury Community Network and click in editorial selection about global warming. The science in this article seems pretty solid. The author claims it has been peer reviewed, and no one yet has been able to criticize the science. Love to hear some legitimate feedback from a believer.

  6. That is simply not factual.

There are many scientist that have come out against the theory of man made global warming.

In fact, the latest trend shows the world has now been cooling for the past couple of years- so the name has been changed from Global Warming to Climate Change, and you have to ask about the fraudulent message?

    You sound nice, but gullible.
