  1. Because of the worm fronts and cold fronts mix. When the hot air meets up with the cold air the cold will pull down the hot air making the (funnel effect) as it pulls the hot air will push making it start the turn. The more hot air the tornado gets the bigger it will be and the stronger it becomes.  Tornadoes can occur anywhere as long as there is a hot and cold front.

  2. because of the converging air masses (warm and cold) and generally flat terrain.

  3. Tornadoes occur in the places that they do primarily because the ingredients that are necessary to make them come together there. What is needed is plenty of moisture (dewpoint temperatures of at least 60ºF), instability in the atmosphere. This means that a pocket of air will continue to rise up and remain warmer than the surrounding air, this is known as buoyancy. Also, there is plenty of wind shear in the atmosphere, this means that winds change direction and/or speed as you go higher in the atmosphere, this is what provides the rotation of the storms that produce tornadoes. There are more things that go into creating a tornado but those are among the most important ones.
