  1. Lp's Mom said it all. We will lay down our lives and even give our husbands for our kids.

    thumb up LP

  2. Becuase their our flesh and blood. The light of our lives. The reason we were put here. Well maybe thats just me.

  3. I want to protect my kids because I brought them into this world..  I want to instill in them every ounce of wisdom, and good values I can...  Because I love them, adore them, and that is too what God would want each parent to do...

In turn too, I would want all children to be safe...  But I am responsible for mine as each of us are...

  4. I think the real question is, why would mothers NOT want to protect their kids?

  5. We were created to love and want to protect our offspring.

  6. We all like to think that since we've made mistakes our kids don't have to. That's one reason. I hate the thought of my kids having to go through anything uncomfortable. But, I'm getting a little better at that.

Another reason and my MAIN reason is that child molestation is common among friends of the family or family members, or family of your children's friends. in order to protect our children- we take all measures. Mom's have to. I have to know that I have done everything in my power to prevent my child from being harmed and damaged.

To me- they are the most precious beings alive. It's my job to make sure they're safe. More than it just being a job- I WANT them to be safe- for themselves.

I want them to go through life feeling whole and healthy and happy. They deserve that.

I'm extremely protective of my children to the point that other parents have commented. But I do not care about that- I only care that my kids are Okay. Not kidnapped, raped, beat, mentally abused, unattended, taken advantage of or harmed in any way.

  7. The same reason fathers want to protect their kids ... we all love our children and have a special bond with our offspring.

  8. It's natural instinct. Mammals protect their young. It's biological, and unless you have some sort of mental defect, you will protect your offspring.

  9. It's their job.  Kids aren't capable of always making rational decisions (even into young adulthood, sometimes).  Plus, you don't want them to grow up too fast.  My child was sexually molested at the age of 4 in a foster home.  I wish I'd been there to protect him.  That's something we have to deal with everyday because he wasn't protected.  It's unfortunate that kids don't appreciate the protection until much later and fight it when it's going on.  That's life, though, I guess.

  10. because we are built with an instinct to protect ouor young just like any other living animal

  11. It's a built in instinct for an mother to want to protect her offspring. Human's aren't the only ones that do it, plenty of animals protect their babies too. Besides, after you go through all the trouble of being pregnant and raising a child, most moms don't want one little slacking moment to cause some life changing injury to your child.

  12. It's hard-wired into us, that's just what we do. It gets harder as they age and you need to step back and let them get hit by life sometimes so they can learn to leave the nest.

  13. It's our job

We love them so much, we hate to see them hurt

We want the best for them

God gave us a nurturing spirit

  14. It's a natural instinct and all animals have it, not just humans.

There is nothing wrong with parents looking out for their kids, but when parents overprotect and shelter their kids, it becomes a problem.

  15. it is hard to explain but it is a bond that is created from conception to birth.  You dont carry a child for 10 months and not fully bond and have that child become a part of you.  Once that child is born the bond is established and you will find you do anything to protect them.

  16. maternal instinct.

  17. mothers protect their kids to keep creepy internet abusers like you from abducting them and turning them into their own personal slaves who go onto tickmaster.com to get tickets to concerts as soon as they go on sale and the kids have to make sure they get good seats for their captors because if they dont then they have to eat the cucumbers that the captor used the night before for god knows what.

or maybe its just instinct. just a hunch.
