  1. .....since black instills fear in the mind and black merges with the darkness, so black settled for vampire hunters.

  2. Its a stealth thing. Since vampires can only live in the dark, it makes sense that they wear black so they can blend in and sneak up on the vampire.

  3. hides the blood stains easier.  Actually, most people wore dark colored clothing in the 'old days' before run resistant dye was invented.  And they're right, I'm sure it didn't hurt in the 'stealth' department either.  Seriously though?  - Hollywood has noticed that people in black look cool and dangerous.  Simple as that.  Vampires are suddenly attractive instead of walking corpses and 'hunters' wear leather and have long hair.  You tell the story people like to hear and show them what their eyes like to see.

  4. Molly Zinger is right. Vampires appear only during nigh-time. So if you are a vampire hunter, it is but natural to camouflage yourself in black clothing. It would be a crazy idea to hunt vampires at night and wear white... twice as crazy for a hunter to wear luminous clothing.
