Question:

Why do vegetarians love to answer the "why" question?

I find it tiring to tell people why I'm vegetarian, because I have so many reasons. It's so wearing to see the same questions and answers all the time. Why don't they just google it?

And then there are those who think that vegetarians are too self-righteous and snooty. Well, we are right, so push off, meat-eater!

It's healthier, more humane and more environmentally friendly to be vegetarian. Aren't those facts? Why do we have to post such long answers to explain?

  1. The 'why' question is easy, because I dont want anything to hurt, be pain or be treated cruely just so I can be temporarily statisfied.

I hate the "So what 'do' you eat then?" question. Umm food you idiot. Anything that doesnt come from an animal.

  2. I don't get the point here at all.

This is a Q&A site, and you are moaning about having to answer questions.

The site is entirely optional, you are free to click away or go for a walk.

Just don't answer the ones you don't want to, its simple.

And if you think its weary to answer them, just don't, the world will not stop turning you know.

I notice yesterday you asked "Why are there so many haters?" about people on this site. Well, if you had "just googled" it you would have found that many similar questions have been asked before. So you are dishing out exactly what you are moaning about.

I'll leave it to you to go through the 16,429 other questions about hate to figure out which ones are relavent.

ps, moaning doesn't make veggies look too good.

arrrhh "ART" = "Adam T" eh ?? If you read my answer you will see i did nothing BUT point out her flaws. Your leap to criticise me left you lacking in the comprehension department.

  3. in your edit you say that humans are made to eat plants. take cows as an example. they have evolved to be able to produce the proper amount of nutrients from eating just grasses. their bodies produce things like vitamin b12, protein and such on their own. then take cat as another example. they are able to produce the proper nutrients from just eating meat, that's all. we have evolved to get our nutrients from both plant and animal material, it's been that way for millions of years. we are naturally omnivorous. you can get what you need from vegetable matter and supplements but we are not designed to be vegetarian.

  4. Completely agree.

  5. "Why do vegetarians love to answer the 'why' question?"

    2 points... that's why.

"Why don't they just google it?"

Some people are lazy.  And as Michael H has already stated... this is a Q&A site.  What should we be doing here, playing Scrabble?

"And then there are those who think that vegetarians are too self-righteous and snooty. Well, we are right, so push off, meat-eater!"

That IS very self-righteous and snooty.

"It's healthier, more humane and more environmentally friendly to be vegetarian. Aren't those facts?"

If they are facts, then why are you questioning them.

"Why do we have to post such long answers to explain?"

Some people post long answers to completely explain themselves and to prevent any confusion.  Then again, some people just like to hear themselves talk, and such questions and answers can be reported as "rants".

  6. Just say I dont like meat. I however cannot live without meat. h**l with the environmental and humane reasons. A bear would not think twice about eating you! So eat them before they eat you!

  7. When you ask a question and say "Well we're right, so push off meat eater"  you sound a little self righteous and snooty.  I am not a vegetarian, but I totally understand why people are.  I would never criticize someones decision about what they chose to eat or not eat.  And you're right...when people post this tiresome question over and over again, don't they see the 1,000 instances of the question show up under the ask section.

  8. People answeer this question because we are social animals and we like to connect, including verbally. So this is easy topic, just gabbing about your feelings ect. Like taking a walk versus running, sometimes you just want to take a walk.

Bear eat meat? Yes, but since they can't make lentil soup, I guess they have no other option. Being human is having unlimited options, lucky us! So some of us choose to emulate bears? Have fun with that.

    Peace

  9. Well, I find it interesting to hear all the different ways people reach the same conclusion.  Seems everyone comes from different angles, backgrounds, reasons, etc. and it's interesting, so I often answer again and again because I personally found these stories very motivating when I was first changing my diet.

  10. I myself am not a vegetarian but to each their own...you shouldn't have to explain yourself to people. Your choice is your choice and there is no other way around it.  Good for you!!! (and I mean that in a good way not a "whoopdie do" way)

I think its rude when people verbally abuse Vegetarians/Vegans, and same goes from the other end.

You have the freedom to do as you please in this Country!

  11. all my family are vegetarinans  and i find it sooooo annoying when people ask why also "so you dont eat chinkin?? or pork??" NO WE DONT!!!!!!!!! Grrr lol phew glad i got that one of my chest :] x

  12. The animals are getting killed anyway..to not eat them would be a waste

Do you find the animal kingdom repulsive and cruel or whatever?

Tbh your probably one of those from California who love the smell of their own farts..

  13. Well I know some people who became vegan and vegatarian just so they can say "i'm vegan"(i guess they think it sounds cool?) Ive been vegetarian for 2 years and along with eating healthier and not harming animals I find that just looking at meat is rather disgusting. I dont go around saying i'm vegetarian all the time. When people ask i usually just say because i want to be like it's none of their buisiness what are they going to do? refute my response for why. It is pretty annoying

  14. I proud to be an vegetarian, in my home except me and my mother all r non vegetarian and our health is better than them.
