Why do venues have bag requirements?

Well I am going to a concert soon and I noticed on the site for the venue, they have bag requirements. They largest a bag can be is 10 x 10 x 12. Why do they have this? If I brought a little bigger bag would they most likely search me or take my bag away? Let me know.

idk i guess if your bag is too big it could be a bother to other people!!! I think it is stupid though cuz then how can you bring things you need or buy merch to put in your bag so you don't have to carry it around... UGH lol!!
