  1. Interesting....

I've actually mentioned the same to my hubby - that the unintelligent are outbreeding the intelligent.  I don't know....ignorance is bliss maybe?  Or really, really accident prone?

Personally, (not saying I'm more or less intelligent than the average s*****k) I hope to be able to afford college for my 2 kids.  Plus, I've found a "man to man defense" is pretty effective.  Once the kids outnumber the parents, they have to resort to a "zone defense" and get run over...

    But that's just my opinion.

  2. i would say they analyze it and figure the cost of children and

life and devote alot of time working hard.

  3. I'm not sure it's a straight matter of intelligence.

I would sooner attribute it to education, the ability to afford birth control, and a social welfare system that's badly out of whack.  It's a frightening thought that there are people out there who do not understand reproduction, but there are many.  And if our public schools are not allowed to teach about birth control, this situation isn't likely to improve.  Many low-income families can't afford necessary health care, much less "recreational" prescription birth control pills.  Have you priced condoms lately?  Not a popular alternative to pills at about $1 each.  And the US welfare system actually advocates having more children as a means to receiving more money each month.  How screwed up is that?!?

What does that say about our future?  That this situation will not improve without some major changes.  I salute the states with work-for-welfare programs, or programs that enable public assistance recipients to better themselves through job skill training.  It's a step in the right direction for a flawed system.

  4. Because they are smart...however, you won't become more intelligent if you don't have children...so breed away....

  5. We actually discussed this very topic in my Sociology class this past semester. It has actually been proven that intelligent, college educated, couples do tend to have fewer children, and tend to have them later in life, as compared to non-educated couples. I'm not exactly sure of the reason, though. I do believe this to be harmful. Children born to parents who are not educated probably wouldn't have as much encouragement from their parents to attend college, as compared to a child born from college educated parents. Neither of my parents even graduated High School (and I must mention they have 6 kids!) and neither I nor my siblings were even spoken to by my parents about the importance of education. As a result, only 2 out of the 6 graduated High School and 1 received their GED. I am currently enrolled in a University, and am the only one in the family who will obtain a college education.

  6. Because intelligent people are able to read the instructions on the condom package?

  7. In developing nations, the education and literacy rates of women are low due to an overwhelmed infrastructure. Also, due to the overwhelmed infrastructure, the available health care is low. In developing African nations, there are often wars and famines. A lack of health care plus war and famine means that not only do the women not have access to birth control or reproductive education, but also that many of their children tend to die at a young age. Therefore, they have more children to replace the children that will die. It is very sad. Also, in developing nations, men are more dominant. His masculinity is confirmed by having many children and a woman's worth is judged by how many children she has.

In developed countries, intelligence corresponds to wages. People with less money tend to appreciate the simpler things in life, such as family and children. Also, as intelligence increases, women more completely understand the risks, pains, consequences, resources, and time involved with motherhood.

  8. Because in nowadays intelligent people is able to understand that it is not possible to have more than two children. To race productive and happy people take money and time.

  9. probably because they are too busy with their careers to have any children.

im intelligent (i have a uni degree) and i have a child and want more...because having children make life worth living and knowing that when im gone someone will remember me and appriciate me makes me feel like ive contributed to society.

i think the future will be just fine.

  10. Intelligent people haveimportant things to do, they usually don't have time for more then one kid (if even)... Stupid people have nothing else to do except drugs and breed...

  11. People who APPEAR more intelligent than others are the ones spending/wasting time trying to get even smarter to gain a feeling  fulfillment from their careers etc

No huge implication as it is people that appear intelligent that arent breeding not strictly people that are intelligent, and there is only a loose correlation between them

  12. Not quite sure...  Have you seen the movie Idiocracy?  HIlarious.

Anyway, I actually had to do a project in social statistics and I used the variables of level of education, gender equality, and birth rates (on a national level--compared 45 nations).  I found that countries with more educated populations also had greater levels of gender equality, which came with lower birthrates.  The average correlation coefficient was about .87, which is a VERY strong correlation between all the variables.  Not that this answers your question, but well, supports your assumption, I guess.

  13. thats kind of obvious really

cos smart people use condoms for one

intelligence usually means thinking far too much,

unintelligence means doing then thinking, a little, but usually about how your doing has affected you

and so intelligent dont want kids yet, cos they think far too much about the consequences and negative

uninteligent, just hate the consequences and moan about them, but never change their habits so keep having the kids, and keep not using the condoms

    it implies nothing

    its always been the same

just cos you notice it, in your life time

doesnt mean it wasnt there before you came along to notice it

smart still gives the human race its achievements

there will always be smart and intelligence, whether its genes, or willingness to learn

  14. In my opinion most smart people hold off on/ not having children simply because they are sharpening other skills in their life during early child  bearing years and having children would probably bee a bump in their road to achieving success.

Not so inteligent people chose to bread abundanty because it is the one thing that brings something positive that they can invest in.

So if you're smart you invest in YOUR own future first, and

If you did not invest in YOUR OWN future then you must make little investment/ babies of your own.

  15. That you will have MANY children!  Congratulations! :)

  16. idiots are sheeps so they follow religions that dont allow contraceptions, and they have alot of kids. smart people know the difference between fantasy, i.e. some carpenter creating people from his body parts to reality, i.e. evolution of creatures for millions of years.

  17. because they know family planning really really well

  18. Because people who are smart, are too busy with their studies to spreading their selves around and getting knocked up. They have good morals, and want to become somone who will help.

People who are not-so-intelligent are just that, not-so-intelligent. They don't think about the future or what they should/will be.

This could mean that in the future we will have many families with bad morals (not like that doesn't happen already in america) but there will always be those smart people out there to help or save us.
