  1. If you have weak ankles you wear them to prevent rolling your ankles.

  2. One of the most common injuries is a sprained ankle.  You can step on the foot of your team mate or your opponent.  Most ankle injuries happen at the net.  (I hurt mine at the 3 meter line-10 foot line.)

Ankle braces will stop you from twisting your ankle on plays where you are not in control.  If you twist your ankle while wearing the ankle brace, it will be less severe and you will be playing sooner.

  3. lots of players wear the preventatively so that they avoid getting hurt, for this i suggest the softer ankle braces, activeankles are a good brand, but they are better for previous injuries, the softer ones also don't cause blisters.  You really only need them if you play front row and especially if you're a middle, because middles always come down on the setters foot for ones.

  4. BECAUSE THEy NEED iT WHEN THEy SLiDE ON THE FLOOR TO DiG FOR THE BALL...SO iT DOESN`T CAUSE ANY BURNz ON THEiR KNEEz...

  5. they will let the cops know where u r lol

  6. I really like them. THey keep you from being able  to turn your ankle which is really easy too do when you are moving a lot and diving sometimes they are kind of expensive but i think they are really worth it

  7. they halp you from losing your balance like if you were about to attack the ball and your foot like went to the side it would mess the play all up. It just helps you in general for any play, especially if your jumping up in the air(front row mostly) so you don't come down on it wrong and hurt your ankle.

    hope this helps!

  8. They will protect your ankles from being sprained or worse. If you have already sprained your ankle you should wear them because it's easier to sprain it again.

  9. They may not keep you from spraining an ankle, but they will definitely help to minimize the damage.  The worst sprain I ever had was while playing volleyball.  I when up for a block, and when I came down, I landed on an opponents foot.  I went down like I had been shot.  I wasn't wearing any ankle protection, and I know had I not been so stupid, the damage to my ankle wouldn't have been near as severe.
