Why do volleyball players wear those tight shorts?

No, they are called spandex. and we were them because it is easier to move in. when we dive for the ball and stuff like that, we don't want our shorts to rip and spandex are really comfortable!

bun huggers...thats a new one.  We call them spandex or spankies.  They are comfortable to play in.  They don't get in the way when we're trying to move.  Thats about it! Comfort and movement!

o yea...and we make more money cuz guys come to the games.

There are MANY reasons:

1. They are tight so they don't touch the net and lose you the point

2. They allow for maximum movement because they stretch with your body.

3. So they aren't a safety hazard with the net/players/playing area.

4. They look good, of course!

there called spandex. It makes it a hole lot easier to move around and when you slide on the floor they don't come up like basketball shorts, this prevents floor burn witch kills. It is way easier to jump and everything in them and its tradition to wear them just like lacrosse players wear skirt things volleyball players where spandex.

Because they give them greater ability to move around. If they were wearing big thick long pants or shorts that would slow them down and make the game harder. It also probably gives them a breezy feeling down there which could be frefreshing every time a breez roles buy, the thicker and longer shorts or pants would be to sufficating. Can you imagine wearing cotton shorts that go up to your knees in 38 degrees C with humidity!?

Last time I checked, I just called them spandex, but I guess "bun huggers" describes them better.  You get less resistance when you move in them, and you don't get tangled in them if you dive.  You can jump higher, and move faster, therefor having an advantage over other people who don't wear spandex.  They have kind of evolved into the official "outfit" for volleyball, which is unique.  have you seen any other sport who wear spandex?  And they are surprisingly comfy!!!  hope this answered your question.

theyre called spandex.  theyre really comfortable when we play volleyball.  we usually just wear them for games though.  it helps you move easier and so they dont get in the way

womans athletic training shorts.

we wear them to give us better movement on the floor it give our abilitly do dive and run better and faster. Also these help prevent floorburn for when u dive. they slide easliy on the ground so you wont cut yourself Also They Wick persperation to keep you dy and comfortable =)
