  1. Because they don't want to wait for you to eat your food but they have to ask you. So as soon as you take a bite they ask you so they can get out of there but not get fired lol. Just a guess.

  2. It's because wait staff are often disgruntled and this is there secret conspiracy be evil to their customers and have a good time doing it.

    There are other techniques.

The floaty lemon seeds in your water.  Most people don't complain but the wait staff grin maliciously while making sure at least one person at every table gets a floaty lemon seed.

    One butter packet too few.

12 creamers and not one milk for the tea drinkers

Ohh.. tea bag beside the pot.  Pot of luke warm water!

Extra table ads on your table.  HA HA HA HA!! No room for your food sir,... only ads about Happy hour and deserts you'll never be hungry for and out of date promotions!

  3. They don't do it on purpose (at least, most of them don't). But when you've served a party of four and you check back after a couple minutes, it's hard to find a moment when someone DOESN'T have their mouth full!

It's kind of like when your dentist asks you how things are going after he's got your mouth full of drills, etc. he probably means well :-)

  4. yes those are the Restraunt rules ... to let you pipo get chalked up and then watch you cry for water  and help when you are almost closing up ... its because sometimes customers looks down on others .... that's why....

    i think !

    lol

  5. I have worked in a restaurant for 20 yrs now, when checking back on customers I have found that if they are not eating then something is wrong, if they have a mouth full of food they are usually enjoying it and are happy for me to wait for a reply.

  6. They aren't "waiting" until you have your mouth full. It's a server's job to check back after about 2 minutes to see if everything's okay. If you happen to have food in your mouth, either motion that you'll answer in a second, or just give them the thumbs up sign. No big deal!

  7. so that you cant ask for anything and they can leave.

  8. in case it isn't - when you have a mouthful you just nod your head x

  9. I have asked my self the same question! sometimes i feel like telling them "i don"t no yet please come later for Gods sake!"

  10. i think they do, I hate that

  11. yea - why do they do that it's so annoying!

  12. So they cant reply!! LOL

  13. as a waiter, its purely for our own $hits and giggles

  14. I always wondered this. They wait and watch and then come bounding over when you have a mouthfull. I reckon this is because if the meal isn't ok, your mouth is too full to answer, so he/she scoots off before you have a chance to say anything!

  15. because if there is anything wrong u couldn't say "NO"

Or eating and talking while food in your mouth can make a Bab experience,{ the food might fall out of your mouth}- and will be embarrassing

  16. That's not all. The other night, a buxom waitress approached  (my mouth was crowded with all things edible) and asked: "Coffee, tea, or, me!"

  17. because they want to embarass you

  18. they wanna make sure that the food in ur mouth is ok or not b4 u swallow it and forget how it tastes :p..they wanna make sure at the same moment hehehe

  19. Um, because they want you to taste the food before u answer!! lol IDK

  20. It is by pure coincidence that I might catch you with a full mouth. After all, you ARE eating at a restaurant, aren't you? I am a waitress and I do try to avoid this, however, what are the odds that while you are eating and I need to check on you, that you ARE NOT without food in your mouth? Very slim from what I experience. Especially when there is more then one person at the table. What are the odds that EVERYBODY has an empty mouth at the same time? I do try to direct my question to the one who's mouth appears to be empty. I guess if I never stopped by the table to check on you, that would just give you something else to complain about!

  21. Take your time and quit stuffing your face and it won't happen as often.

    Piggy

  22. so you cant complain lol

  23. They go on a course to learn how to do it! Dentists go on the same course so that they can ask questions when your mouth is full of mirrors and things.
