Why do waiters think that it is ok to flirt or hit on me when i am with my <span title="mom?????????????????????????">mom??????????????????????...</span>

i am 16.

a couple months ago i was eating with my mom at this restaurant and our server was trying to flirt with me. my mom even noticed him doing that. she said i think he likes you and he came back to our table about 10 times and kept asking "hows everything over here?" every single time like every other minute. and he didn't go to anyone elses table.. when it isn't even the type of restaurant where the server is supposed to check back with you. at least this guy was my age.

and then yesterday this guy who was like 25 years old kept trying to joke with me and asked my mom are you sure i shouldn't have alcohol in my pina colada. then he kept trying to ask me when my spring break was and try to poke fun at how much i ate for like 2 whole minutes and and he kept talking and trying to make me laugh

why do these people do this in front of my mom don't they know this is so embarrasingly weird???? do you think this is ok or inappropriate???

I ran to a waiter like that in Mexico.. but he was

very friendly no complaints.. he wasn&#039;t like trying to crack a conversation but he would light up when he&#039;d get to my table and when It was time to go he headed before I got to the door to open it for me..the thing is they are men whether they are in a job or not..I understand you might be feeling

embarrased.. just ignore them

because it is ALWAYS ok to flirt. i bet if it was the guy you were interested in, you wouldn&#039;t mind.

As a Mom and now a grandmom of teenage girls, I don&#039;t think a waiter flirting with you in front of your Mom should be embarrassing.  It is a harmless way for the waiter to brighten his work day.  Does Mom think that no one ever flirts with you?  No.  Instead of being embarrassed, the next time it happens ask Mom how she would rate the guy; is he cute, got a good personality or is he a dork?  Make it fun instead of something objectionable.  I bet Mom would appreciate being brought in to that aspect of our life.
