  1. Safety in numbers and comfort in the familiar drives us to seek like minded individuals. These similarities provide support, acceptance and encouragement. However, just because it is our tendency to seek out the familiar, that doesn't mean we should abandon our individuality. Our individuality is what  defines us, it makes us unique and special. The world would be a very dull place if we were all clones of one another.

  2. I think we all want to be a part of something, in the big picture.  No one likes to think of themselves as completely alone.

Maintaining individuality, is a different thing.  In fact, I think it benefits all if we do.  Any group is that much stronger when it can combine the vast and varied strengths of its members.  To all be the same, the group would not survive...certainly not successfully...

  3. Human nature, you get accepted into society by being a part of something.

If your a part of something and remain individual, you are noticed, praised, and are able to retain your social status while being yourself.

Everyone wants to be themselves, no matter how much they don't like it, they wish they could show a side of them that people may not accept, but much easier to express.  Since society doesn't accept individuals if they are not a part of something, people try to lead other people in groups to be more like themselves, thus gaining a lot of people's attention that more people would more likely want to be themselves then a part of that group.

    Kinda rambling =]

  4. That is a very interesting question.

I think that even though we all want to be part of something we dont think that we have the right communication skills that other people have so therefore they like to do their own thing by their selves without other people trying to correct them and making them do it a different way that their use to!

  5. Because people have a strong need for affiliation.  It is deeply embedded in our genetics.  It is by banding together that early humans managed to move the species forward.  Yet at the same time, humans have developed (some would say over-developed) a strong sense of self.  People are very strongly attached to their view of themselves as a unique and independant entity.  So there is always a bit of tension between these two forces.  I think most of us solve this by extending our sense of selves to our families or closest friends.  We envelop ourselves in a social group, managing to meet both needs at the same time.

  6. I dont i always say this is me and who i am if you dont like it got f**k ya self

  7. why do "WE ALL" think we speak for everyone?  I'm part of the human species - I can't help that.  I'm female - can't help that either.  For the rest, I'm an independent individual.  I do as I please (for the most part), I think as I please and I speak for myself only and as I please.  I do not need anyone else's approval or permission and couldn't give a rat's butt about what anyone else thinks of me.  I do what I have to in order to maintain my lifestyle, I don't break many laws, and I have a low opinion of a lot of people - specifically because what they call "thinking" I call a herd mentality or, "non-thinking/never questionning" - follow the lead dog and you'll always be looking up someone's else's @sshole.

  8. You know, some of us do not want to follow the road but explore and make our own road.

Not all people want to be part of something that someone else made.

  9. That is nature law ,we want to be part of something like corporation, job, relationship, marriage etc. but we  want to remain individuals.

  10. you can be a part of somthing but be diffrent.  thats why all groups are diffrent.

  11. What do you believe that part of something is or can you not express without being general in your questions?  I mean, I did not come here to this GWS  to assume the position of of anyone's assumption as they do to families for a quick thrill.   Because truly that is all it is.   Perhaps I am proving something to myself, husband acknowledging what he what he already knows,  and also consider others who do same.

My family is a mess due to this garbage.

Edit:  My family does not get along with each other.  It is obvious as to why.  Sure if I or my husband, or both have contact they band together in some sick war as if we are willing to pay for what they're problem is.  I have compassion yes, however boundaries born into me.  Most of it is female initiated but not all, however crazy it is never show their faces.
