Why do we always get maggots in our outside garbage cans?

every summer it happens to us. When we go to take the garbage out to the curb on garbage night, there is always maggots all over the bags. Do they form from the heat or what?

  1. You have flies landing in your rubbish and laying eggs, that's where the maggots are coming from. i always put my rubbish in bags and tie a knot.

    And always make sure the lid of your bin is sealed tight. if not get a new one.


  2. Natures way of getting rid of old waste (garbage) fast.  The hotter the weather and the smellier the garbage, the faster the decomposition.  Gross!  

    You can thank the fly activity for this.

  3. Flies are landing in the cans and laying their eggs or however it they breed.   Keep the lids on tight.

  4. Flies; don't discard so much food(thats what a dog is for)

  5. From the heat, and they love smelly stuff and trash.  So if your trash cans are cleaned once in a while it won't be so bad.
