  3. If we don't let the gas /air build up get released from our system, we may suffocate to death.Burping is body's auto mechanism to release the gas/air build up.

  6. Swallowing air causes burping, and this is actually a very common occurrence. You probably aren't swallowing air on purpose, but excess air is making it to your stomach anyway.

  8. When you have an excess of air or gastric juices in your stomach it needs to escape, and since it IS air or gas, it rises. If we didn't burp or f**t, we'd probably explode!!

  10. When we swallow, we also swallow air, which gets trapped in our food. Also some gas is produced when acid is added to the food in our stomach.

    Burping just forces the gas out.

    Gas in the small intestine can be quite painful.
