Most "loves"

that people talk about sound like infatuation anyway!

But of course alot of people talk about the real stuff, "true love",

Why do people choose love as the main topic in songs, movies, books, in every culture?!

Why are we so obsessed with love?

I`ve never felt it, so I guess thats why I`m looking at all the loved crazed people and thinking "what the?!!" lol

Why do you think love is such an important topic in everything?!

  1. without love

    where would you be now?

  2. I think because we crave attention and understanding by another and also sense that love is a healing element in life and with it we can unburden ourselves of all the petty feelings.

Also we seem to be fixated on the idea that it comes into us from outside like the reawakening of sleeping beauty a  much tried and tested story that endures.

So the way that we tell ourselves stories about love is like a lottery for magickal experience - This projection keeps us well in the game, and yearning for longer - as it is Skinnerist operant conditioning.

I do think love is beautiful and a healing force but think it comes from our selves our capacity to love ourselves and others whether any one wakes us up to it or not - We may wake ourselves.

I think its the major topic because we tell the story that it is rare - in short supply. So then people want to own it and it causes lots of feelings  not getting it etc. having it and losing it etc.

I think the 'in love ' stage is pretty neurotic love and I wouldn't wish to do that again - not even for an olympic gold medal in loving.

I am not interested in formulaic romantic stories of love but I do think the real process of learning to love grabs my interest because it seems more about freedom than control.

  3. Because its a normal, human feeling.

  4. The primary command of God is the law of love. We have to love others as we love our selves.

  5. Because In the world true love is hard to find. Love is bed of rose wheb it is true. Because love has a good affect or bad affect. Good affect may helps anybody to gain and bad affect may destroys his/her life.

  6. It's the highest-frequency (energy) state to be in - when we are love. and when we exude love. when you truly love someone, you will know exactly what it feels like.

i have come to learn that love isn't just bout loving ur romantic partner, but exuding love for everyone. even that feeling is the most peaceful and joyous when u truly experience it and its impact.

  7. Beats me!

  8. love is like oxygen! Love is a many-splendored thing, love lifts us up where we belong, all you need is love!. . .

okay i was just quoting moulin rogue.

so you know how if someone threated something you liked for example your lap top, or your car etc etc, youd get out there and kcik that persons *** until they cried sorry as if they were an obese kid crying out for cake, correct? but. . .  well this is how i think of it-

when you move from the like threshold to the love category, you no longer feel the urge to kick that persons ***, instead if they were threatening your significant other/family/pet, then youd put yourself in between your loved one and them. . .

thats where i think you can see the love.

vague much? yeah i know, sorry about that.

once you experience it, you cant really live without it. what a drug ;)

  9. because its the closest thing we have to magic

  10. i agree with you alot

  11. i used to be the same way, i never cared about it i never felt it with anyone..until my bf now of 7 months..i guess people love Love so much because it's like an overwhelming feeling, your always happy and all giggly. i guess once a person finds love then they would always want to feel it. love is a natural human feeling. but trust me once you found someone you love then all those crazy love songs will make sense.. =)

  12. Because true love is so hard to find.

  13. love is magic love is illusion love is maya(not there but it appears to b prsnt) great thing in this world.

  14. You're absolutely correct. Many times, when people say they are in "love", they hardly mean anything more than getting some action, or at least so it seems. Who is another person to judge the feelings that noone but that person feels?

I'd say you answer your own question. Why is love such a dominant topic in the world (not just society, or culture, but world)? Because we are obsessed with it. So then the real question is... why?

What's love anyways? It's not something we achieve. Love is a label for something we already do inherently. We are introduced to something. We learn about that thing. We understand it. We choose our feelings towards it. We dislike it. We proceed along the path towards further disliking or even hating it, or we remain as we feel about it. Or we like it and progress on the path towards further liking it or loving it. Love is just when we have such positive feelings towards something that we're drawn towards it in several aspects of our existence, being either physically, in thought, in emotion, etc. Why do we get obsessed? Because obsession is a result of liking something as well. Obsession with love results because we like liking things! We want to be enveloped in a world where everything we like is around us and we are not sad or dragged down by things we dislike. We continue to love and it pulls us farther into the loving obsession. That's why love is so important to us. With the human intimate bonding aspect of love, obviously the thrills of sharing and creating infinite moments that we can love (which is, as I just said, what we like to do) draws us to want more. I think from here it's easy to understand betrayal and all that other junk that comes with the typical human romance. Ay... All this talk makes me wish I had love too. I hope my rambling and attempts to create logical ideas out of irrational emotions has helped a bit.

  15. Because God created us to love one another and, more importantly, Him.
