  1. Because we are animals and we need to compete to survive.

    Maybe sounds sad but is the truth.


  2. It's embedded into our brains, or more particularly the limbic system.  An evolutionary trait that help us survive over the eons///

  5. We used to need to compete to survive but sadly, as a rule, we haven't yet been able to use our intelligence to figure out that our future survival depends on cooperation.  We're still too afraid, too ruled by our egos.  I hope we can figure it out before we drown.

  6. For the feeling of self satisfaction and worth. For the rational selfish intentions of man's duty to make himself happy.
