  1. Obama is newsworthy because he's controversial and stays in trouble in one way or another (with his loud-mouth ape looking wife stirring the pot all the time with her stupid comments).  McCain in boring.

  2. Her has the presence, charisma and intelligence and McCain has.......... hey, what has he got?!!!!

  3. i think it depends on where you live.

i'm in the middle of ohio, and it's actually balanced here. some areas of the country tend to lean one way or the other. i'm suprised that i get to see as much about Obama here as i do. i would have guessed i'd see more about McCain based on the political affliation of a LOT of the folks around here.

  4. A lot of people are fascinated with him one way or the other, he's new, interesting, different, etc. Novelty value really. I wouldn't set too much store by it, it really doesn't mean anything and it's likely hurting him more than helping him if that's a concern.

Herd journalism too, all sorts of silly stuff gets unbelievable media attention in the USA, 9/16ths of second exposure of Janet Jackson's nipple got more media coverage than McCain will ever get. Now if he did something wacky or interesting, he'd get tons of coverage.
