  1. 1.  I think it does, as well as the way you are raised.  Some people raise their kids to let them cry and other won't allow it or punish it. But yah, I think it does have something to do with you're emotional level as well, some people are just genetically more emotional than others.

    2.  No- I think there are a few different kinds....like crying because you're happy!  Or perhaps you have hurt yourself physically, and the tears come without control but it's not like you are wailing like a baby. And then theres the type of crying where you've been hurt so bad emotionally that you cry so hard you can barely breathe.

    3.  I guess it depends on the circumstance.....if you're still crying over an ex a year after the break up then that's not really considered to be "normal." If you burn your hand and start to cry, of course theres gonna come a point where crying would be over-reacting and you need to just move on already.

    4.  The worst reason I cried was when my brother died, at the age of 20 from an OD.  That was awful, uncontrollable crying for weeks, crying that could come at the drop of a hat, it was horrible, but time goes on.  I could still cry about it now if I let myself, but I don't anymore, it's not uncontrollable anymore.

  2. There is a reason for everything. We cry when we need human contact, just like a baby does. In the development of the species, it was a signal to others that, "I am so sad I need a hug", sort of. That's why we cry at funerals. It brings people of a like mind together.
